SOLD: Finding a vintage record player with a 45rpm metal platter was no easy feat, but I did, and quickly deconstructed it to top off a two-tier dessert server. A vintage 33 1/3rpm turntable platter serves as the base of the piece and to keep everything authentic, a retooled tonearm from another turntable was used as the center support. Original rubber mats sit snugly on top of their respective platters and an original record spindle is the cherry on top of this one-of-a-kind piece. And — the top platter spins if you give it a gentle push!
This industrial looking server is so unique, you’ll want to leave it out on your counter or table all year long. When you’re not featuring decadent goodies, you can fill each tier with small vases of your favorite flowers, tiny mementos for your dinner guests to take home, or maybe an array of jelly beans nestled in some colorful mini ramekins. And during the winter holidays, there’s no limit to the uses you’ll find.
The Two-Tier Server is approx. 10” high and 12.5” across the bottom. A pedestal raises it about 1/2” off the counter and gives the piece an appearance of floating.
