SOLD: Restyled – Recovered – Repurposed: A Floor Drum turned Stylish.
When found, this drum was little more than a piece of wood, covered in bad laminate and headed to the landfill. After a little TLC (okay, more than a little), it has a new life as a modern storage ottoman. Now, in addition to providing extra seating and a place to hold everything from a throw blanket to all of your entertainment devices, it also works as the perfect side table when topped with a favorite serving tray.
I have covered the exterior with black, high-grade vinyl and lined the interior before re-attaching the reclaimed chrome hardware and legs that I modified for design purposes. To protect your floor/carpet, the drum has been elevated about an inch off the floor by the addition of four feet. The top and bottom of the drum have been reinforced and the top is padded.
The ottoman measures approximately 16.5″ high and 16″ wide. The legs can be extended to add height to the ottoman when using as a side table. However, the ottoman should be securely resting on its feet when used as seating.
[Please note that I work with authentic, used, vintage pieces, not reproductions. Although I strive to use pieces that are true to their original condition, there may be minimal wear marks or factory imperfections, especially on pieces that were never meant to be seen.]
